How to post a good activity
A short guide for club office bearers and members. Sending an activity takes about two minutes on a phone; a district moderator checks it, usually within two days.
Before you start
- Choose your club from the list. If your district office sent your club its own form link, the club is already chosen.
- Have one to three photos ready, each under 1 MB, or a link to your club's own post about it.
- Every activity needs a photo or a link; without one, a moderator cannot publish it.
Photos that work
- Show people doing the work: members and the people helped, not a row of people holding a banner.
- Take photos across (landscape). They look best on phones and in WhatsApp previews.
- One clear photo is better than a collage or a poster.
- Everyone in the photo, or a child's parent or guardian, must agree to it being published. Avoid close-ups of children.
- Phones store the place a photo was taken; the website removes that before publishing.
Title and description
- Say what was done in the title: "Free eye camp for 220 villagers", not "Event at Rampur".
- In two to five lines: what, for whom, with whom, and what came of it.
- Never write children's names, phone numbers or email addresses. Text with a phone number or email is kept off the website.
- Choose the area of focus and the Avenue of Service that fit best.
Extras that help
- People helped and amount spent: numbers only; they add up on the district's year summary.
- District campaign: if this was part of a district drive, choose it and give your count. Count only what your own club did.
- Video: a YouTube, Instagram or Facebook link. YouTube videos play on the website.
- In the press: the newspaper's name, the date and a link to the news item. Please do not upload photos of clippings; they belong to the newspaper.
Events
- Choose "An upcoming event" on the form. Add the registration closing date and fee if there is one, and say whether it is open to everyone.
- Never add bank, UPI or payment details. A fee is shown as plain text only.
- After the event, send it again as an activity, so the report links to the event.
What moderators reject
- No photo and no link.
- Children's names, or photos of children without consent.
- Phone numbers, email addresses or payment details in the text.
- The same activity sent twice, or by two clubs for one joint event (one club sends it and names the others as partners).
You get an email when your entry is approved or, with the reason, when it cannot be published. Approved entries appear at the next website update, and in that Sunday's bulletin.
Other forms
- Update your club's links, meeting day, projects and regular services
- Add a facility your club runs that the public can use (blood bank, eye care, dialysis…)
